Storing your garden furniture over the winter

General Storage | 16.09.13

For most of us, it was a wonderful summer. The Barbecue was working overtime, the grass flourished and the time spent basking in the midday sun was significantly greater this year than it has been for many summers.

Unfortunately, all good things come to an end and now the nights are drawing in, it’s time to consider how to store your garden furniture. Half a dozen wooden chairs, a bench, a table, parasol, sun-beds, deckchairs and of course, the Barbecue itself. Unless you have a spacious garden shed or empty garage, storing your garden furniture during the winter months can be a problem. After all, leaving it exposed over the autumn and winter months can be detrimental to its appearance.

Maybe, it’s time to think about self storage. Yes, you could price up the cost of a shed and maybe squeeze everything in. However, before doing so, consider how damp free a shed will be during the winter and how the cost of a new shed compares with six months of secure storage. I guess, it’s a no-brainer. Not only will your garden furniture be dry and protected from the elements, but it’s safe and out of the public eye.

“You won’t need a giant unit or something in which your garden furniture will take up just one of the four corners, you need a small unit in which you can carefully pack away and store your furniture until next Spring,” said Lucinda Dangerfield, co-director of Space Centre Self Storage.

“We have opened our doors to many clients who simply don’t have the space or cover at home to guarantee their furniture and barbecue will be in equally good shape next Spring as it was last Spring.

“Pack the goods properly and store them with care and you will find that come next summer, your items are as good as new. There are no long term contracts to sign and you can pop in at any time to make sure all is well.”

Space Centre Self Storage is based in the North Bristol and Goucestershire areas and currently, there are four individual sites all of which benefit from first rate security.

Lucinda added; “Here at Space Centre we aim to provide quality affordable self storage units whilst maintaining a friendly approachable atmosphere.

“We are one of the few budget storage companies who advertise our prices online as we believe our quality cheap storage prices won’t be beaten. We are also one of the few companies who can provide temporary storage for shorter amounts of time.”
